The Biology
Fungi contains 3 major classes: molds, yeasts, and mushrooms.
An overgrowth of Candida albicans (unicellular yeasts) has been associated with a hypersensitivity to yeast, a condition that is becoming an increasingly common problem.
While it normally exists in the human body, these yeasts can cause health and other problems if their population in the human body increases significantly.
The human body hosts different bacterias and yeasts, which co-exist in a healthy balance. However, many environmental conditions (such as antibiotics, birth control pills, and others) can cause a disruption in this balance.
For example, after antibacterial therapy, many of the good bacterias that reside in the body die off, leaving the yeast population to overgrow, and cause many health problems.
Knowing this, if you suffer from yeast sensitivity, there are a few things that we suggest:
- Eliminate yeast from your diet. For great and delicious recipes and great yeast-free cooking tips, visit Yeast Free Recipes and Cooking Tips
- Supplementation with good probiotics can help your body establish a healthy balance.
